My fascination with the great wines of the world began when I was a young student living in France. My initial journey into the wonderful world of wine started in Italy when I was quite young, but blossomed when I moved to Paris and I soon realized that becoming a professional sommelier would become the cornerstone of my life.
After I graduated, my very first serious sommelier gig (commis sommelier) was at the presitigious Tour d'Argent (3 star Michelin) in Paris. Upon my return to Canada I became the "sommelier-en-chef" to both the Four Seasons in Ottawa and Westin Hotels & Resorts in Calgary & Edmonton; "resident sommelier & specialty manager" for the Alberta Liquor Control Board ; "sommelier-in-residence" for NAIT's School of Hospitality; "invited sommelier" to Worlds Association of Chefs Societies Conferences in Santaigo & Daejeon; "principal sommelier" at Vines Wine Merchants a

Having just recently celebrated my 45th anniversary as a certified sommelier, my passion and love for great wines has yet to dwindle and my appreciation for all other beverages has just gotten stronger and stronger.
As a sommelier instructor, wine consultant, wine blogger, international wine judge and all round wine enthusiast, I hope this blog will provide everyone who reads it with some helpful insights about the wonders of food, wine, beer, spirits or any other beverage you may inquire!
So here is from me to you, with some suggestions, tips and recommendations but always rememeber to "trust your own palate"
